2012 Venus Transit
UPDATE (12-06-11): Recently processed CoMP data shows a sharp view of Venus' transit in the corona.
UPDATE (12-06-05 1945 UTC): Venus is already visible in the corona of Mk4 images!
The Mauna Loa Solar Observatory took images during the transit of Venus on June 5th. Click on a thumbnail image below to play the movie for that instrument. Note: The square shape surrounding Venus in the H-alpha data is an artifact caused by image processing.
Higher resolution images will replace the raw real-time images when the data is fully processed.
