The Mark III K-Coronameter (MK3) is a 23 cm objective coronameter-polarimeter located on Mauna Loa, in Hawaii. It is used to observe the solar corona in polarized optical light.
The MK3 data are often compared with H-alpha data from the DPM and PICS instruments, Helium-I data from the CHIP instrument, Yohkoh xray data, and historically, the Solar Maximum Mission (SMM) coronagraph data.
