Welcome to the LOWL Instrument Homepage. (LOWL is an abbreviation of Low
degree with degree denoted by L). It is an instrument which measures the
properties of solar oscillations. The LOWL is located at the
Mauna
Loa Solar Observatory
on Mauna Loa, Hawaii and has been operating since Feb. 24, 1994.
It was built and is operated by the
High Altitude Observatory,
of the
National Center for Atmospheric Research
in Boulder, Colorado.
